辺境の力

私は泉南市に住んでいる。かれこれ20 年以上になる。

大阪市内から電車で50 分程度距離にして40Km ぐらい離れた所であり、人口約5 万人の市である。

2024 年夏が非常に暑かったのが原因であるのか、やたらと草むらが多いように感じる。

なぜか気になって仕方がない。写真に撮って考えてみようと撮影を始める。

関西国際空港の開港時対岸に作られた埋立地りんくうタウンから始め、探してみると草むらは結構ある。

コンセプトは“生物多様性の現在にあって、毛嫌いされている雑草の力が表す事。”

辺境には人も生活しているが、人が踏み入れない場所には植物が覆い茂っている。

その力を写真に置き換えることで、今（現代社会）が見えてくる（感じ取れる）のではないかと考える。

Power of the Frontier

I have been living in Sennan City for over 20 years.

It is about 40km away from Osaka city, about 50 minutes by train, and has a population of about 50,000.

Perhaps because the summer of 2024 was so hot, there seems to be an unusually large amount of grass.

For some reason, I can't help but wonder. I started taking pictures to try and think about them.

Starting from Rinku Town, an reclaimed land built on the opposite bank when Kansai International Airport opened, we looked around and found quite a few grassy areas.

The concept is to show the power of disliked weeds in the current biodiversity situation.

People live in the outlying areas, but the areas where people do not go are covered with lush plants.

I believe that by replacing that power with photography, we can see (feel) the present (modern society).
